Buyer’s remorse

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

bio_chrisHave you ever been in this situation? Be honest, now.

I’m an opener, always have been. I tear that stuff up! How can I recreate the Battle of Hastings with my limited edition DC Direct figures if they’re still in the boxes? And it is way tougher to make Superman and Batman kiss each other that way. I assume.

Limited Perdition

bio_chrisThe anguish continues…

And by that I mean my art. In case you somehow haven’t noticed, the art has been me the last few days (also the writing, but you should be inured to that by now). Adam will be away from the strip for a bit while life intervenes, and rather than go hiatal again so soon we’re going on anyway till he gets back. Expect some shaky work while I get used to this, and don’t be surprised if I try different art styles.

Totally unrelated thought: Say, who likes stick figures? I sure do, and it works for Randall Munroe…

Just saying.

Joss Whedon’s “Dollcouch”

Monday, February 9th, 2009

bio_chrisI have to admit, I’ve been very happy to see the promotion that FOX has given Dollhouse. Commercials, music video, a sensible lead-in show, the stars and Joss showing up on talk shows and at the New York Comic-Con (did you ever see a Firefly cast member on a talk show before or during the show’s run,  ever?), review copies all over the place…

Including, by the way, the one I received when I reviewed the pilot episode here (relatively spoiler-free).

Flip This Dollhouse

bio_chrisOld, old joke. Prostitute walks up to a man on the street and says “I’ll do anything you want for $100, but you have to tell me in three words.”

Man says immediately: “Paint my house.”

Ba dum dum.

Michaelangelo worked this way

bio_chrisThis time the art is all me. I apologize.

Don’t miss the premiere of Dollhouse, tonight at 9, right after Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles at its new day and time. And I believe Summer Glau and Eliza Dusku are hosting tonight’s shows, so tune in for that happy little slash fantasy, if nothing else.

I Think This Line is Mostly Filler

bio_chrisAdam’s away from the drawing board for now and I’ll be traveling this week (New Jersey, represent!), so things will be a bit odder than normal.

Which is a scary thought all by itself.
